What is democracy?
Democracy is considered a popular concept in modern times. Both the parliamentary system and the presidential system are considered democratic. Since the parliamentary system is the British model of democracy while the presidential system is the American model, democracy is generally considered a gift from the West. When the debate takes place in the context of Pakistan, there is a sharp ideological divide between the liberal and the religious elements.
The religious class considers democracy to be a Western system while the liberal class considers the Islamic system to be in conflict with democracy. Nor does Islam have any conflict with democracy. If one studies the state of Madinah and the Righteous Caliphate, it becomes clear that there is no concept of heredity in Islam, nor is there any reference to the monarchy. Is
Some people say that the difference between Western democracy and the Islamic caliphate is that in Western democracy people are counted but in the Islamic caliphate, they are weighed. Second, in Western democracies, incompetent people are elected and become rulers while in the Islamic caliphate only believers are eligible for power.
At present, the majority of Muslim countries are such that elections are not held at all because personal dictators or kings are in power there. However, if we talk about Pakistan, to educate the people and give political awareness in Pakistan. Need to be able to make the right decisions, even in western countries the literacy rate is on average more than 85%, so even in Pakistan unless people are educated they can not contribute to democracy or the Khilafah I
As far as the second objection is concerned this is also a weakness of our electoral system. Therefore, it is necessary to scrutinize the candidates in accordance with Article 62/63 of the Constitution so that only eligible people can participate in the elections. Thirdly the resolution of objectives has already been included in the constitution of Pakistan which is the real master of the sovereignty of Russia and this principle has been taken from the Islamic caliphate. What happens is that Allah Almighty and the people are held accountable.
Therefore it has been proved that there is no conflict between the basic principles of democracy and the Khilafah. In fact, the idea of electing the ruler through voting was first given by Islam. When the teachings of Islam were left behind, they also fell into stagnation in the field of science and technology and the people of the West swept away from us. On the contrary, democratic values continued to flourish in the West, and our leaders in both the political and scientific spheres went beyond the principles of selflessness.
The same tragedy befell the Ottoman Caliphate that scientific progress had stagnated and the Caliphate had become hereditary. These two weaknesses led to the acceptance of the Turkish Youth Movement and ultimately to the end of the Islamic Khilafah. In Pakistan too, the Muslim Ummah is in need of the West. The only nuclear power in the Islamic world, Pakistan, has also become the root of all problems.
The outdated system created by the British is the root of all problems. This system is neither democratic nor Islamic. There is no choice. In this outdated system, neither democracy nor the rule of law is possible. The founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had said Islam and its spirit have taught us the lesson of democracy. These principles have taught us human equality justice and impartiality. We have our own glorious traditions of the past while drafting the constitution for Pakistan. We are the heirs of (Radio Address February 1948)
The problem is that the people of Pakistan have always been deceived in the name of democracy and Islam. In the true spirit of democracy, fair and transparent elections accountability and accountability political training and awareness of the people have been neglected. The role of ordinary citizens in politics is nominal. Instead of considering themselves as representatives and servants of the people, the rulers have started considering themselves as masters.
Certain families are imposed on the people. Every time in elections, the same people change political parties and return to the houses of power so we can say that in the name of democracy in Pakistan, the elite is imposed. The current electoral system to bring the common man to the houses of power. In the current PTI government, too, there is nothing new except the supremacy of the electable. Prime Minister Imran Khan came to power with a promise of change and a new Pakistan but it is now clear that the outdated system must be gradually replaced There is no other way to bring about change
