Despite Corona the country’s foreign exchange reserves will increase by 2020
Karachi (NNI) Despite the economic impact of Corona, Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves remained stable during the year 2020.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the total foreign exchange reserves increased by 13% in 2020 as compared to 2019. In 2020, the value of government foreign exchange reserves increased by 16%, while the reserves of commercial banks increased by 7.72%. During the year 2020, the value of total foreign exchange reserves increased by 2.32 billion. At the end of the year, the total value of foreign exchange reserves reached 20.254 billion while government foreign exchange reserves increased by 81 1.8184 billion during the year 2020. The value of government foreign exchange reserves reached 13 13.15 billion at the end of the year.
In December 2019, the total reserves were 17.93 billion the value of government reserves was 11.33 billion. The reserves of commercial banks increased by 50 509.2 million during the year 2020 to 7.103 billion
