Preparations have been made by the accountability court to file a petition against the sentence passed on former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the Azizia reference. According to private news channel ARY News he was sentenced to one year in prison and a fine of Rs 1.5 billion. He was acquitted in the flagship reference. Judge Irshad Malik who convicted Nawaz Sharif of corruption, has been sacked. Therefore at the direction of Nawaz Sharif his lawyer Khawaja Harris is preparing to file a petition against the sentence. According to reports the petition was to be filed today by Khawaja Harris which has not been filed yet. It is likely that the petition will be filed in the Islamabad High Court in the next few days after full preparation.
