Why 1.5 million people were evacuated to rush shelters despite Corona in the Philippines

A typhoon like the Corona in the Philippines has put the government to a new test. A large number of people have been stranded in their homes due to pre-typhoon storms and torrential rains, but about 1.5 million people have been evacuated on emergency basis. 141700 people have been shifted to these narrow and cramped shelters.

According to the BBC, a powerful typhoon that hit the Philippines has forced nearly 1.5 million people to gather in cramped shelters, raising fears of the spread of the corona virus.

According to officials, only half of the shelters are being used for social distance and masks are being provided to each visitor. However, after the outbreak, many shelters were turned into quarantine centers, which hampered relief efforts.

A total of 11,876 cases of the corona virus have been confirmed in the Philippines, while about 800 people have died from the deadly virus.
