UN General Assembly suspends Russia’s Human Rights Council
According to the news agency, 93 out of 193 countries of the General Assembly voted in favor of the proposal. The 24 members of the General Assembly voted against the US proposal.
The news agency said that 58 countries, including Pakistan, abstained from voting. Russia, meanwhile, has expressed regret over the expiration of its membership in the UN Human Rights Council.
A Kremlin spokesman in Moscow said he regretted the UN General Assembly’s decision. The Kremlin spokesman added that Russia would defend its interests by all possible legal means
