KABUL – At least 12 people have been killed in an earthquake in the western province of Badghis in neighboring Afghanistan.

According to foreign media, the roofs of many houses collapsed due to the earthquake in Qadis district of Badghis province, as a result of which 12 people were killed and several others were injured. Among those killed in the quake were women and children.

The US Geological Survey said the quake had a magnitude of 5.6 on the Richter scale. The shudder had a profundity of 30 km
