The United States is considering ways to end Russia’s permanent membership in the Security Council.

According to a foreign news agency, US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman, while briefing members of Congress, said that an investigation into the possibility of Russia’s withdrawal from the Security Council is underway, but no final decision has been made yet.

Britain, on the other hand, says it is ready to discuss how to reduce Russia’s status in the United Nations.

Ukraine says membership in the Soviet Union should not be given to Russia, Russia’s membership could be challenged.

It should be noted that in 1945, the United States, Britain, France, China, and the Soviet Union were granted permanent membership.
