Concerns over target killing of police officers report sent to higher authorities


The Sindh Counter Terrorism Department has sent a report to the higher authorities regarding the fears of target killing of former police officers linked to a gang war in Karachi.

According to CTD sources, the report was prepared in the context of the murder of Javed Baloch, a former police officer who was fired for his alleged involvement in a gang war.

According to the report, the former coordinator of Uzair Baloch of Lyari gang war could be targeted against these 8 police officers, some of whom are now under attack.

Uzair Baloch’s JIT report had revealed the issue of contacts with some police officers. According to the report, these eight police officers had contacts with Uzair Baloch.

 According to the report, the names of SP Iqbal, Inspector Badar, Inspector Ayub, Inspector Imtiaz Niazi, Inspector Chand Khan Niazi, Sub-Inspector Abid Tanoli, Sub-Inspector Babar, Sub-Inspector Sanaullah, and Constable Baqir were also mentioned.

 Among them was Inspector Javed Baloch, who has shot dead near Gurmundar a few weeks ago while returning from a trial in jail.

After the assassination of Javed Baloch, more officers were also feared to be attacked. One of them, former SH and sacked police officer Chand Niazi was assassinated along with President Karachi’s associate two days ago.
