It may be recalled that the agenda of the meeting of the Punjab Assembly to be held on April 16 has been released.

The Home Department has decided to make foolproof security arrangements for the election of the new Chief Minister of Punjab during the voting in the Punjab Assembly on Saturday.

According to private TV, Rangers have been summoned in view of the election of the Leader of the House. Along with the police, Rangers personnel will also be on duty. Section 144 has been imposed up to 500 meters around the Punjab Assembly.

Political workers cannot assemble within 500 meters of the assembly. The gathering of more than 4 persons around the assembly will be prohibited. Strict action will be taken to close Mall Road or any other road. Workers are allowed to assemble on the way to the assembly. It should be noted that Hamza Shahbaz and Pervez Elahi are contesting for the post of Punjab Chief Minister.

PML-Q leader Pervez Elahi accused Deputy Speaker Dost Muhammad Mazari of taking instructions from elsewhere. Talking to the media on his arrival at the Punjab Assembly, he said that today I am not a custodian, I am a candidate for the post of Chief Minister.
