Out of 992 government primary schools in the Sukkur district of Sindh province, more than 100 are completely closed, 72 schools are inactive due to the unavailability of toilets, electricity connection, boundary wall, and other basic facilities.
The Government Primary School has located some distance from Gulbano Sukkur Airport, where the date written on the blackboard of the classroom shows that the last class was held in the year 2016. Due to the closure of the government school, the children of this area are either far away. Daraz has been forced to go to a school or has dropped out of school.
Citizens say that schools have been closed for five years now, their roofs are falling down. In the last five years, hardly any responsible officials have visited the school or tried to reactivate it, which is why school furniture, doors, windows, and even the main door have been stolen.

One citizen said that a local teacher should be asked about the seriousness of the teachers in these government schools.
According to Sukkur District Administration and Education Department, after compiling the list of unnecessary and inactive schools, the administration is unable to say whether the ghost employees in the education department will be eliminated or not.
